ServiceNow SAM Pro is powerful – especially with the latest enhancements such as Guided Setup and Now Assist. It can normalise thousands of installations, reconcile entitlements, reclaim unused SaaS licences, and produce audit-ready positions.
Microsoft has launched a new flagship product: Microsoft 365 E7, the "Frontier Suite." The bundle combines E5, Copilot, advanced Entra, Defender, and Purview functionality, and agent-based AI into a single SKU. For organizations that are already heavily invested in Microsoft technology and are serious about AI adoption, this could be a logical consolidation step. For ITAM teams, it is also a moment to pause and reflect. Not to dismiss E7, but to ask the right questions.
In 2026, sustainable IT is no longer optional. It’s a business imperative!
Most organizations discover the problem in a similar way: a finance leader extracts a cloud cost report, flags a spike in software licensing fees, and sends it to the IT Asset Management team. The ITAM team opens their CMDB or SAM tool and finds… nothing that matches. Different categories, different vendors listed, different time periods. Two teams, two systems, two versions of reality. And somewhere in the gap, there’s a six-figure problem that neither team had the authority or visibility to detect alone.
Microsoft's April and May 2026 updates are already in motion, and for ITAM teams, the window to act is narrowing. License Mobility rights went live April 1st for Windows Server and SQL Server subscriptions under the Microsoft Customer Agreement. A 20% price reduction for Windows 365 Business and the launch of Microsoft 365 E7 land May 1st. And a technical compliance deadline for pricelist systems hits June 15th. The changes are here. The question is whether your organization is ready.
